Donald W. Bean, age 70 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ after a final bout with pneumonia.
Born in Abilene, TX, he was the son of the late Cyrus and Wanda Bean. Don lived in Matamoras, PA before moving to Whitehouse Station 21 years ago.
Don was a consultant for Factory Direct Computer Products for 15 years before his retirement. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict and Desert Storm, and had been an Adjutant of American Legion Post 284 in Whitehouse.
Over the years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing and golf. He enjoyed travelling (whether in his convertible Mustang or on a cruise ship), sipping fine scotch, and making new friends wherever he went.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary (Cozine Barr) Bean, his loving son, Justin Bean of Philadelphia, his sister, Barbara Martin of San Antonio, TX, his parents-in-law William & Mildred Cozine of Basking Ridge, sisters- and brothers-in-law Kathy & Mark Balzarotti, Steve Cozine & Suzanne Cerra, Carolyn & Chris Trend, Maureen Cozine & Brian Tobin, nieces and nephews Jim & Sheila Kercheville, Jerry Burns, Jana Kercheville & Jason Keller, John Ira Kercheville, Alyssa, Michael and Matthew Balzarotti, Julia, Jake and Sofie Cozine, and many dear friends who are like family.
A special thanks to the friends he made during his treatments at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center over the last two and a half years---doctors, staff, and his beloved nurses on ‘3 West’.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14th at 10:30 am at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 13th from 4-8 pm at the funeral home.
