Thomas DeFazio, age 74 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Friday, September 22, 2017 peacefully at his home.
Born in Somerville, NJ, he was the son of the late Anthony and Veronica DeFazio. Tom had lived in Manville before moving to Whitehouse Station in 1971.
He was a mechanic at Gavazzi Tire in Somerville for many years before retiring in 2004.
Tom enjoyed fishing, bingo and going to the Sands Casino but it was his love of family that defined him.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Helen (Domanski) DeFazio, his loving children, Joseph DeFazio and his wife, Penny of Hillsborough, NJ; Denise Troia of Whitehouse Station, NJ; Mary Pantano of Hillsborough, NJ; Anthony DeFazio and his wife, Lisa of Doylestown, PA; Dolores Turchi and her husband Tom of Bridgewater, NJ; Juliann DeFazio of Blandon, PA; Thomas DeFazio, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of Hillsborough, NJ; Veronica Coury and her husband, Bobby of Philipsburg, NJ; James DeFazio of Whitehouse Station, NJ; Joann Pantano of Hillsborough, NJ; Chesla Gil and her husband, Victor of Boynton Beach, FL; and Amy DeFazio of Whitehouse Station, NJ. He is also survived by his dear sisters, Catherine (Carl) Rizzo of Port Charlotte, FL, and Dolores Dermo of Cream Ridge, NJ, twenty four amazing grandchildren and four precious great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 9:30AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station.
