I met Helen after the death of her husband as a facilitator of the bereavement support group at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. After the support sessions ended I continued meeting her in my office and later in her home. I visited her weekly for the past fifteen years, except when she was traveling.
I truly grew to love her as we shared our faith, stories, music and laughter; and of course coffee and the pastries that Anne provided for our visits. Helen was a true story teller. She shared so my stories about her flight experiences and her love for her girls and grandchildren. One day she asked me if I knew she kissed the actor that played the original Tarzan. Then she said, “yes and it was a pretty good kiss”.
I will miss your mom more than you will ever know and will always treasure the great privilege it was to get her to know her. Thank you Anne for making that possible. Your mom loved you and truly appreciated all you did for her.
